Whether you call it “beer belly” or “pot belly”, let’s face it; belly fat is unsightly as well as unhealthy. Here’s some tips to get rid of it.
First and foremost, congratulations on your decision to live a better and healthier lifestyle; the benefits waiting for you on the healthy side are well worth the muscle aches and joint pains. Like many other men before you, you may be struggling to get rid of that extra flab around the midsection.
But, don’t feel bad; you’re not alone. Belly fat is common among men, and it can be dangerous as it tends to lead to the development of certain medical conditions such as type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Belly fat is caused by poor food choices, as well as the over consumption of alcoholic beverages such as beer that are high in calorie count. If you have been working out consistently but seem to be unable to get rid of that extra layer of belly fat, it could be a sign that you are doing something wrong. Here are some tips for men to get rid of belly fat:
Eat Healthy
It goes without saying that the consumption of healthy foods is the fastest way to get rid of fat in the stomach area. Processed food, sweets, candies, breads and carbohydrates should all be swapped for a healthy combination of fruits, healthy fats, vegetables, and proteins. You should also steer clear of foods that are made out of white flour, Trans-fats, and saturated fats to lose the weight.
Exercise Daily
Depending on your fitness capability, you should participate in moderate to intense physical activities in order to lose the stomach fat. Thirty to sixty minutes each day of cardiovascular exercises can do wonders for the stomach. By participating in activities such as walking, cycling and jogging and combining them with strength training sessions, your body is able to lose weight quickly without reaching a plateau or a stagnant point in the fitness journey.
Manage Stress Levels
Chronic stress causes your body to release large amounts of cortisol, which causes the volume of fat that is contained in the stomach to increase. As such, you must find a way to manage your stress levels for weight loss to occur. Please remember that with elevated cortisol levels, the amount of exercise you do does not matter, which works to challenge your fitness efforts.
Avoid Alcohol
If your primary purpose is to get rid of the belly fat, you should avoid drinking alcohol
entirely. Your body burns less fat when alcohol is present. Additionally, alcoholic beverages contain high amounts of carbohydrates and calories that can make losing the belly fat difficult.
Loosing belly fat is not only paramount to good health, but your efforts to loose it will be rewarded by an overall sense of well being. Plus, you’ll look better as well.
